PROBLEM:
The problem that formed the basis for CIAC Systems was the industry-wide and chronic issue of electric heat trace cable failure. Until now, there has been no means to accurately or consistently warn plant operations of an impending failure of these important components.
SOLUTION:
With our patented system and services, CIAC leverages new predictive circuit failure forecasting to identify potential faults to alert you ahead of time. Users now have the ability to repair or replace heat trace cables that are indicating future faults BEFORE they fail.
CIAC provides real time data of key system attributes via a LAN based dashboard capable of displaying system information to users throughout the facility. The dashboard incorporates features that provide valuable assistance to plant operations with comprehensive circuit and branch line information available at the click of a mouse.
PAST:
REACTIVE MAINTENANCE
Replacing faulty heat trace components after they've failed costs more than just the price of parts and labor. Unexpected circuit “trips” and plant downtime have significant impact in the form of lost revenue, regulatory compliance issues, and budget shortfalls.
CIAC FUTURE:
PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
CIAC Systems has instead created a live monitoring program that provides the trending data needed to track component performance and schedule maintenance around planned downtime. Your budget and your operations teams both benefit by moving from reactive to predictive maintenance.
CIAC Comprehensive Circuit Report
BRINGING THE DATA TO YOU
CIAC’s Comprehensive Circuit Report includes ambient temperature and humidity, and daily or weekly automated “megger” test results. These reports provide valuable data to determine the “health and well-being” of each electric heat trace circuit in your system. This data can be exported to a .csv file for use in overlaying this information with your plant operating conditions. Knowing when your plant was “on or off” (which can have significant impacts on the values of your Insulation Resistance measurements), combined with site ambient conditions and the results of the Insulation Resistance tests will provide you with a forecast of potential circuit failures. What better way to effectively use your annual budget for Winterization and Freeze Protection?
